Digital Communications Associate

Avery is the Digital Communications Associate at the Institute of Policy Studies. Before coming to IPS in June 2023, they worked in various roles in higher education ranging from archives technician to cataloger. Coming from a background in public history, Avery is a firm advocate for protecting and promoting accessible educational institutions like public libraries, museums, and cultural heritage sites. A North Carolina native, they are currently happy to call the city of Washington, DC home.

Avery received their B.A. in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2005 and a Certification in Online Marketing and Social Media from Guilford Technical Community College in 2022.
